This jaunty memorial at Our Lady and St Margaret in Calthorpe near Erpingham boasts three skulls for the price of one, including some kind of creepy Medusa skull and two baby skulls.
It marks the grave of James Springall’s wife Curtis, which was once a unisex name meaning ‘courteous’, with whom he had six children. You can also spot some lovely wall paintings, fragments of medieval glass and a possible Green Man.
